Before submission, we go through your fingerprint form and supporting documents to reduce the risk of rejection or a second submission.
We submit the checked application to SAPS on your behalf, whichever police station took your fingerprints.
SAPS allocates a reference number to each application. We follow yours against it and update you on progress.
SAPS does not scan and email completed certificates. We collect the original once it is issued and courier it to you in Durban or elsewhere in KwaZulu-Natal.
Prestige Solutions handles your application and delivery; SAPS issues the certificate and determines processing time.

From fingerprints to delivery, completed certificates commonly take one to six months, based on what our clients and enquirers report. SAPS determines the processing time and counts it from the date Criminal Record and Crime Scene Management has received all the required documents. We look after the steps before and after, checking the application going in and collecting the certificate once it is issued.
The fingerprint visit is the only part you attend. We submit the application, collect the certificate and courier it to you.
Poor fingerprints, names that do not match and missing documents are common reasons applications are sent back, and SAPS does not process an incomplete application. We look for these first.
Some destinations want the certificate apostilled or attested. Tell us and we can add that step to your file.
Before we start, we tell you whether your date looks realistic, so you can plan around it.
Practical answers to what Durban applicants ask us most.
You do not need to travel. Having your fingerprints taken at a police station near you is the one thing you do in person. Your fingerprint form and documents then come to us, and we submit the application and collect the certificate as part of our police clearance service.
At a police station near you. SAPS must take the prints itself, as a full set on the SAPS 91(a) form, and you will need your identity document or passport. Phone ahead to check that someone is available to take them, and ask us for your document list before you go.
By courier, because SAPS does not scan and email completed certificates. We collect the original once it is issued and courier it to you in Durban or elsewhere in KwaZulu-Natal. Give us your delivery address when you enquire.
One to six months from fingerprints to delivery is common, based on what our clients and enquirers report. SAPS determines the processing time, so if your deadline is close, tell us the date first and we will say honestly whether it is realistic. There is more in our article on how long a police clearance certificate takes.
The cost has two parts, the application fee charged by SAPS and our service fee. We confirm both upfront, so ask us for the figures before you decide.
Yes. Fingerprints at a police station are the only in-person step, and we take care of checking, submission, tracking and delivery. Seafarers and offshore crew often need the certificate by a fixed joining date, so give us that date at the start and we will plan around it.
Mention it when you first contact us. If a maiden surname or another former surname has to appear on the certificate, SAPS requires it to be mentioned in the application and supported by documentary proof. We check that both are in place before submission.
Yes. Tell us if the authority receiving your certificate wants an apostille or attestation, and we can take it into that process on the same file once SAPS has issued it. Our attestation and apostille service page covers that step.
Yes. Applying from another country works differently, and our guide to getting a South African police clearance from abroad explains how. Message us from wherever you are to get started.
Tell us what the certificate is for, the date you need it by and where it should be delivered. We reply with a document list built for your situation and the full cost, confirmed before we begin.
